CES 2018: What to Expect in Tech and Product Innovation

This year, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada, and it’s fast approaching. The Mako Design + Invent team can’t wait to, first off, escape the cold but also see all the burgeoning product innovations developed in the consumer electronics space.

Each year you never know what CES has in store but there are always rumors about what to expect and we can’t wait to check out some of the things we’ve heard about, especially from some of the big names who always have something up their sleeve.

Consumer Electronics Show 2018 Predictions:

Samsung typically unveils a number of noteworthy products at CES each year, like their bendable television in 2016 and Galaxy A3 phone last year. In 2018, there were whispers about the consumer electronics giant introducing their foldable Galaxy X phone. There’s also a rumor that Samsung may be debuting a gigantic TV at CES this year, and by giant, I mean 150 inches, and this is just a few of the rumored products that may be introduced.

Google will have a big presence at this years CES and it’s said that they may be eager to show off their Google Assistant, which isn’t surprising given the push we’ve seen for it lately. They’ve been said to be hosting a “Google Assistant Playground” at its booth so attendees can try it out and see all the new ways to use the product.

Sony has usually used CES to focus on their office and audio lines. This year it’s expected we’ll see the next line of Bravias, potentially an unveiling of the new Xperia smartphones and a high-res turntable to kick it back old school.

These are only a few of the exciting rumors making their rounds regarding the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show, but we can definitiely anticipate some more big and exciting things from some of the best consumer electronics engineers in the world. Augmented and virtual reality, car tech, and the introduction to many more great new innovations are to be expected.
