Product Development Strategies: STEAMLabs | MAKO Design + Invent

STEAMLabs Encouraging Product Development

It is extremely important for parents to inspire young minds to explore their creativity. Children need encouragement from their parents to guide them into the excitement of learning. After all, the future of innovation and technological advancements within product development lay in the hands of the younger generation. Our friends at STEAMLabs have recently hosted the Clock Making Hackathon to show support to the Texas student, Ahmed Mohammed, for creating a home made clock at the age of 14. Ahmed Mohamed is a Sudanese-American high school freshman, who was arrested for making a homemade clock that was thought to resemble a bomb. STEAMLabs hosted the event to show support for young prototype creators like Ahmed. Talented young minds should be harvested and given the proper education and facilities to further develop their skills. Ethnicity, age group or sex is not the determining factor of what nourishes a creative idea. STEAMLabs wants to support the fact that young thinkers should be encouraged, and flourished. The clock marathon provides a chance for people of different age groups to engage in product development strategies by inventing new devices. STEAMLabs has recruited a group of volunteers to help and support these younglings in their making. This opportunity will help many children discover their future careers. People in other age groups might be able to develop something that they can further build upon.

Product Development with Young Creative Minds

Many of the participants are children with very bright minds and a passion for product development. Everyone is given access to material and cutting edge technology to assist them with their projects. These include 3D printers and supporting technology such as microcontrollers and electric components from the generous company Particle. Their minds are let to run free when encouraged to create any type of clock to their liking. They are given a wide variety of paths in which they can take to go about creating their own innovative clock devices. Talented participants combined a wide range of inventive methods and materials to bring their ideas to life.

Without a doubt, the clock making Hackathon is a catalyst for incubating ideas for young thinkers. Toronto is a diverse city with great opportunities and home of many creative technological start-ups. MAKO Design + Invent loves being a part a city like Toronto, where successful entrepreneurs invest in the future of the younger generations. The future of product development lies in the hands of our youth and we will be rooting for them when they make their revolutionary breaks through!
