Green Invention Designs: Celebrating St. Paddy's Day Differently

Think Green, It’s St. Patrick’s Day!

MAKO Design + Invent – March 17, 2021

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We’re celebrating St. Paddy’s Day by taking the traditional green theme in a different direction – today we’re talking about sustainability. What’s clear is that there’s a trend that more of us want to learn how we can contribute to a more sustainable future. In a survey led by Southern Cross University, they found that 93 percent of us were generally concerned about the environment and 77 percent of us wanted to learn how to live more sustainably. The good news is that there are great ways we can make changes in our day-to-day lives. Today we’re talking about green invention designs that we’ll think you love more than a pot of gold. So grab your favorite green beverage, sit back and enjoy the read.

Tesla electric vehicle is the ultimate green invention design.

Tesla Model 3

This one’s a no-brainer, right? Affordable, sporty, and fully electric. From the second you hop in the driver’s seat, you appreciate the green invention design because it all feels luxurious. From the 15-inch built-in touch screen to the Autopilot features, it feels like you’re driving in the future. You can drive up to 35 miles on a single charge. In other words, less time spent recharging and more time getting where you need to go. Even if where you need to go is far, far away, drivers have access to a superb infrastructure of Tesla superchargers to recharge on the fly. And on those long rides, don’t forget to pack your CNCT. Designed by Mako Design + Invent, this cooler is built specifically for the Model 3 and fits perfectly in the back of the trunk.

Nebia Spa Shower 2.0

Imagine if you could save 65 percent of water for every shower you take. With the Nebia 2.0, you can still enjoy long showers with the peace of mind that you’re conserving water. A 10-minute shower with a regular shower head is the equivalent to a 28-minute shower with the Nebia 2.0 in terms of water consumption. This innovative green invention design was able to raise more than 1.9 million dollars on Kickstarter back in 2020. The solution? The Nebia 2.0 breaks the water droplets into even tinier droplets through atomization to mimic the sensation that more water is hitting you at the same time. These droplets travel at a higher velocity compared to standard showers to create a luxurious spa-like feel. They’ve got a nifty savings calculator on their website to be sure to check it out and see how much water (and money) you can save.

Threads 4 Thought

This brand tallied the amount of water consumed, solid waste produced, and crude oil used in the fashion industry and said enough is enough. To contribute to a more sustainable environment, almost every part of the process is sustainable. This green invention design variety of fabrics they use are biodegradable, made from recycled plastics, or require fewer resources to produce compared to standard methods. Their factories use about half the water required to make each piece of garment. On top of that, they recycle and reuse 80 percent of their wastewater. In total, they saved an incredible 502 million gallons of water in 2020. They offer everything from outerwear to shoes and everything in between. Talk about end-to-end.
