Top Growing Canadian Design Firm Recognized by Globe and Mail

MAKO Earns a Spot on Globe and Mail’s List of Top Growing Companies in 2021

Congratulations to the entire MAKO team for being named a Top Growing Canadian design firm. That’s right, we made it on Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Canada’s Top Growing Companies 2021! Indeed these are challenging and unprecedented times. We’ve watched some companies pivot while other companies used their resources to assist the communities in which they operate. Regardless, all the companies on this list went above and beyond. Not only to survive but find a way to thrive despite the ongoing pandemic. Thus, this year’s recognition is extra special to us. And we’re so honored that our design firm is part of such a prestigious list.

Globe and Mail first launched the annual Canada’s Top Growing Companies list in 2019. Every year, they rank private and public Canadian businesses participating in this program based on three-year revenue growth. MAKO Design achieved 55 percent growth over a three-year span.

About MAKO Design + Invent’s Achievement

MAKO Design is the pioneering firm that provides world-class design for startups and small businesses. Even during a pandemic, our mission remains the same. In fact, it’s during times of great uncertainty that often results in some of the most innovative invention ideas. “I’m amazed how new startups, small businesses, and home inventors rise up in the face of the daily challenges of the ongoing pandemic and invent solutions to solve the problems of today and tomorrow,” says Kevin Mako, President and Founder of MAKO Design + Invent.

One major aspect that sets our top growing Canadian design firm apart from other firms is that we deliver a personalized experience for every client. “Every invention is unique. And every inventor is unique,” says Kevin. He continues, “From sketch to 3D CAD to prototyping to manufacturing, I’m so proud of the way our team was able to deliver a seamless experience for our clients during these unprecedented times.

“As we look toward the future, Canada’s Top Growing Companies offer both inspiration and practical insights for other firms facing similar challenges,” says James Cowan, Editor of Report on Business magazine. “The entrepreneurs behind these companies are smart, tenacious and unwavering in their commitment to their goals.”

“Any business leader seeking inspiration should look no further than the 448 businesses on this year’s Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies,” says Phillip Crawley, Publisher and CEO of The Globe and Mail. “Their growth helps to make Canada a better place, and we are proud to bring their stories to our readers.”
The full list of 2021 winners, and accompanying editorial coverage, is published in the October issue of Report on Business magazine—out now—and online.
