Good Morning Danny, It is with a great sense of pride that we write this letter today. Just a few months ago we met for the first time when you walked into our offices with your Kickstarter idea. I remember sharing my thoughts with you that you were crazy. The concept of changing the way the world buys music and other art forms is a pretty daunting feat! That being said, you had the most genuine of intentions. You simply wanted to be able to make a living and understood the challenges that all artists face.
Steve Jobs said it best, “Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
This is a quote that I’ve had memorized for some time because of how true it proves to be. Danny, I still think you’re crazy, crazy enough to have seen this opportunity to change the way the world buys art and give control back to those who produce it. For once, allowing artists to make a living through their passion! As your Kickstarter campaign launches today I take great pride in being a part of this extremely important project. I have no doubt that flanked by two tremendously knowledgeable and committed partners, Rob Anderson and James Anderson, together the three of you supported by countless other partners, communities and inksters will make inkster.com a success and put the balance of power back into the artists hand.
As founders, the three of you have come so far in such a short timeframe. Every time we meet you impress me with the maturity of making decisions based on what is best for the inkster community, while it may not always be what is best for yourself. These next 30 days on Kickstarter are just the beginning of a very long journey. I take great pride in being a part of this project and now also calling you a great friend.
