The ID Guild Hosts Event at Longhorns vs. Aggies Sold-Out Game
As an industrial design firm, we focus on not only providing exception service for our client and teammates, but also for the local design industry as a whole. We are thrilled to have a partner that believes in the advancement of the industry as much as we do and shares our passion towards this initiative. In partnership with the global CAD software giant AutoDesk, MAKO Design + Invent hosted another social event to bring together local designers, manufacturers, consultants, IP attorneys, and industrial design firms. Known as the Industrial Design Guild, our goal is to bring thought leaders together to promote and progress the industrial design industry.
Longhorns vs. Aggies
With our Austin office being just minutes away from the University of Texas, we wanted to bring the design community together to support our Longhorns at one of the most sought after, sold-out games of the year. Rivals for over 100 years, the
Texas Longhorns battled it out against the Texas A&M Aggies on the historic stadium Baseball field. With a beautiful private section along the first base side, our industrial design firm hosted a-list players of the design community to chat the latest
and greatest in ID news. The ice-cold beers and classic baseball fare were also perfect for the hot, Texan afternoon in the legendary stadium.
The A-List ID Attendees
Several of the community’s thought leaders joined us to talk shop and take in one of America’s oldest past times. With over 60 designers, consultants and thought leaders in attendance including designers from Dell, National Instruments, and Yeti, we were certainly in great company. Several start up design
firms joined us as well as consultants and Austin city counsellors. For any industrial design firm and designer, this was the place to be!
AutoDesk and our Industrial Design Firm Partnership
As our partner on these community initiatives, AutoDesk also proudly demonstrated their new software Fusion 360. This is the very software all of our designers use to create the products we bring to life every day.
“We are thrilled to partner with AutoDesk on the Industrial Design Guild events,” says Kevin Mako, Founder and CEO of Mako Design + Invent. “Their passion for community development in the design industry is a perfect match to ours. Together we will achieve great things for Industrial Design!”
Developing the ID Community
We’ve hosted several other events with AutoDesk to bring the ID community together including Austin Design Week, a charity polo match – Victory Cup, product demonstrations, Austin Stars’ hockey games. If you’re a part of the design community and would like to attend our next ID Guild event, we would love to have you! Feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
