Tips For Preparing To Receive Invention Help From MAKO

How to Prepare For a Collaboration With MAKO Design + Invent

At MAKO Design + Invent, we receive a lot of inquiries from small business owners and innovators worldwide looking for invention help in order to bring their ideas to life and on store shelves! Every day we’re excited to listen in and hear about all the amazing and innovative ideas that come our way.

One common question we receive is how our potential clients can prepare for their first free consultation with our product strategist, Ryan Davidson. If you plan on contacting MAKO for help with building your product and starting the business journey of your dreams, here are our top tips to help you prepare for your consultation and get you ready to create your brilliant invention!

Think About Your Idea Thoroughly Before Reaching Out for Invention Help

Having an idea is always a great start to creating or coming up with a revolutionary idea, but it’s important that you think about a couple of factors before going headstrong with an idea. Some of the world’s best inventions are usually thought of when the inventor has noticed a problem or inconvenience in their or someone else’s daily life.

If you have an idea to create something, think about the core function of your idea and how it will positively contribute to someone’s life. Creating a smart idea usually entails providing a new and more innovative way to complete something through the use of a helpful product. Therefore, if your idea makes someone else’s life easier – then it’s probably a great idea to pursue!

Some other things to think about before receiving your invention help is to get down who you’ll be marketing your product to, your audience, your market, and finally, whether your product has been done before.

Conduct Extensive Research and Take Notes

When you have a more concrete idea about what you’d like to create down, the next best and very important step is to do your research! Having a document or notebook filled with the details of your product idea is an organized way to have a clear understanding of what you want to create with MAKO Design + Invent once you receive invention help. It also makes it easier for the design team to get a clear vision of what you want to create.

In addition to the ease that the ease of organization brings from writing things down, it can help you give a clearer perspective on your idea and whether you are headed in the right direction. Also, researching your product idea is a great way to see what is already available on the market and how your new product idea will stand out against any current competition.

Ask Questions Prior to Your Consultation

Even after doing your research, it’s important to think about what you’d like to know more about your product. Getting the invention help you need from a product design and development firm like MAKO is the perfect way to receive the clarity you need for certain aspects of the development of your product.

If you fully understand your product and know which direction, market, and audience you want to target, having questions about the product development process itself is important. At MAKO Design + Invent, we are transparent about how we approach projects and what the product development process will look like.

We understand that not everyone who steps in with an idea is a designer or engineer, so we make the effort to ensure that every step is properly explained and understood to minimize the chance of confusion. We encourage any questions that will help ease and bring clarity to the project to make your experience better!

Keep in Touch!

After you’ve had your consultation or have reached out to MAKO, we encourage you to stay in touch! Whether you proceed with your project or not, we look forward to hearing more about the development of your product or idea and are always ready to help should any questions or new ideas come up.

Keeping a clear line of communication is a great way to establish a great relationship with a product development firm that is ready to offer you and invention help as you may need!

If you need more time to think about the details of your project or need to re-invent and re-design certain aspects of your design, not only can you reach out to us for advice on the best route to take, but you can also take as much time as you need to schedule a follow-up consultation to go over the details and idea of your invention.

Can a phone call and/or email not simply be tapped to have the idea stolen instantly even with a non disclosure and then of course the out of country thing? So anything shy of a in person provisional paperwork meeting at the location in Virginia to hand turn the thing in. You’d still make millions but it keeps me in on the deal no risks. It’s a game changer and the supporting research proves it. Far from my first good idea I have filing cabinet full of bright moments over the years but this one has clearly outshined the others and time is of the essence.
