Our Director of Design at our Austin industrial design agency, Tim Uys, designed the mechanical mechanism that attaches the head array to the back of the wheelchair with a quick-release system that easily allows a care-giver the ability to quickly move the sensors out of the way. The system is also designed to automatically adjust for tightness and reduce wiggling and movement, making it a less frustrating and difficult experience for both the user and caregiver.

About the Mobility Awards

The Mobility Awards is a special award that is given to recognized and outstanding product designs that are made for seating, wheeled mobility, and accessibility. The award is presented by Mobility Management, the only industry publication that is written and focuses especially on mobility and rehab suppliers and clinicians.

Their goal is to delve deeper into the mobility industry in order to report on the markets ranging from power wheelchairs to senior mobility. Thus, the 2020 Mobility Awards celebrate their findings in recognizing the best, and most innovative product designs that not only help to improve society through accessibility but also progress and push forward the mobility industry.

About the ASL Head Array Designed at Our Austin Industrial Design Agency by Our Director of Design, Tim Uys!

Designed by our director of design at our Austin industrial design agency, Tim Uys, the ASL 110 Fusion Proportional and Digital Head Array is designed as a multi-use drive control. Through programming, its functionality allows for it to be used for a wide variety of patients WHO have a wide variety of diagnoses.

The FUSION head array is designed for persons with MS, ALS, and high-level spinal cord injuries, among other diagnoses. Using the additional ASL accessories, the client can wirelessly connect to an AAC device, a mouse emulator, and Tecla E, all accessories from the different designs available from ASL.

The Fusion Head Array allows the user to control the speed and direction at a fully-proportional capability with adjustability options that are designed to fit the customizable needs and progressions of any type of different disabilities. Thus, the Headset Array is designed for wheelchairs in order to allow the user to drive the wheelchair simply by using their head.
